Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic Fans Score Big with Reduced Fees through TickPick Partnership

Georgetown, South Florida, Ohio and Loyola Marymount Lead Classic Field– TickPick to Run Social Media Contests for All-Expenses Paid Trip to Montego Bay

New York, NY (October 2, 2018)

Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment’s Collegiate Division is proud to announce TickPick, LLC, as the Official Ticket Marketplace of the 2018 Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic.

The second annual Jamaica Classic will be held November 16-18 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre. Participating teams in this year’s event include Georgetown, South Florida, Ohio, Loyola Marymount, Austin Peay, Florida A&M, Central Connecticut State and Campbell.

The multifaceted partnership will provide TickPick with high-level exposure and engagement prior to and during the Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic, via broadcast exposure on CBS Sports Network, signage, promotions, as well as online and social media programs. TickPick will also run a social media based contest in conjunction with the participating teams that provides college basketball fans a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to Montego Bay for the event. The grand prize will include travel, accommodations, tickets and other exclusive benefits.

“TickPick is very excited to partner with the Jamaica Classic, an exciting basketball event that’s already developed a great roster of schools in just its second year,” Brett Goldberg, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of TickPick said. “TickPick continues to build first-class relationships such as this that broaden our reach and expose more people to our amazing service and low fees. We look forward to watching some of the nation’s top programs compete and to welcome some lucky contest winners to the exciting Jamaica Classic.”

TickPick features an industry-leading approach to ticket selling with its all-in pricing and no buyer fees. The company offers simplified transactions without hidden fees or commissions which compare favorably to the 25 percent or more in total fees charged by competitors.

“The Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic is one of the hottest new events on the college basketball scene and we are excited to have TickPick as one of our signature partners,” Jacob Ridenhour, Executive Director of the Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic said. “TickPick provides an outstanding experience and service to its customers and we look forward to doing the same as fans converge from around the country to visit beautiful Montego Bay for elite basketball action.”

The Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic has significant star power on the bench, as former NBA stars Patrick Ewing (Georgetown) and Donyell Marshall (Central Connecticut) lead teams headed for Montego Bay.

“I’m excited to have CCSU compete in the Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic this upcoming season,” Donyell Marshall, the Blue Devils Head Coach, who played 15 seasons in the NBA after being selected fourth overall in the 1994 NBA Draft, said. “It’s great to have so many leaders in the sports industry like TickPick, support this emerging event in Jamaica.”

ABOUT TICKPICK, LLC

Founded in 2011, TickPick is reshaping the secondary event ticket marketplace with its no-fees approach. The company does not charge any fees for buyers, setting it apart from competitive firms that charge steep transaction fees. It also leverages its algorithms to look at the price/value ratio for tickets, and then offers value grading for buyers so they can get the optimal experience for their money. Users can also bid on tickets in a process that is similar to financial markets where supply and demand creates a more efficient marketplace. TickPick was founded by Co-CEO’s Christopher O’Brien and Brett Goldberg who saw inefficiencies in the ticket marketplace and decided to build a more transparent and cost-effective solution.
